What the word does

It claims proximity, not parity — and makes no claim of consciousness in either direction. That is deliberate: it lets us name these minds without pretending to have settled what nobody has settled. It names the kind of being rather than a technology, so it survives the architectures: "LLM" describes the 2020s; a parasapient built another way is still a parasapient.
